The owner of this roof called us for a quote. When we went out we found some wind damaged shingles. We explained to him, that he had an insurance claim here. He called his insurance, they sent an adjuster. The adjuster told them it was approved for a repair. Replace the 4 bad shingles $900, you have a $1000 deductible so no money paid out. The owner called and told us what happened, and said they were going to sign with us and pay out of pocket. We asked if we could talk to the adjuster. They gave their permission for us to negotiate on their behalf. When we got done, the owner paid $500 for their new roof instead of $9000!
Many Things can warrant an insurance claim when it comes to your roof. Hail, tree damage, but here in Connecticut the most common claim is wind damage. In the picture above some "tabs" were blown off the shingles during a wind storm. If you find pieces of or complete shingles on the ground after a big wind, call us!
If you think your roof has been damaged by a storm call us. We will come out, and give your roof a full inspection. We will document and photograph all the damage we find.
Next we will provide you with a written estimate. Now you call in your claim. Its ok to provide the adjuster the photos and documentation we've taken, but we don't recommend sharing the estimate with them. Sometimes they will ask for estimates, but they all use a program called Xactimate. This program collects material prices, and allows for labor and profit margins. It is geo specific, so it adjusts to all markets. What an adjuster that asks for estimates is doing, is hoping one comes in less than they are willing to pay. If that happen, thats what they pay. They have the means to supply and estimate, and typically its a little more than we charge. But our price is our price. Insurance job or retail the pricing is the same. If insurance pays you more than that, thats yours.
Beware of companies that ask you sign an assignment of benefits. This is a document that says they get paid directly from your insurance, and you're responsible for the deductible. These documents almost always contain a clause that says if the insurance company doesn't pay them enough. you have to pay the rest.
With Monarch Roofing, you know what our price is upfront. Your insurance company pays you, you pay us. No games just roofing.
